Welcome to my page!
My goal for Apollo is to learn about topics that I think are important and interesting and to get better at making short films.
About Me:
I love movies, music, reading, and wrestling. I'm addicted to watching movies, American and Foreign--anything from Scorsese, Kubrick, PTA, and Tarantino, to movies like Amelie, City of God, and Blue is the Warmest Color. My brothers and I have made movies since we were little. Some of my favorite bands are Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes, and Modest Mouse.
I like questioning things, and I think it's important to evolve.
I like following politics because I care about how the country ends up.
I like knowing what I'm talking about so I like learning about important topics that interest me.

Project 1
For my first Apollo project I focused on the topic of kidnapping, and more specially kidnapping in Africa. I wanted to make a sequel to a short film that my older brother and I made about a kid being abducted by someone at some train tracks. So for my English portion I wrote the screenplay to my short film, for my art I made the short film, and for Social Studies I made a Weebly account that talked about kidnapping in Africa.
Project 2
For my second Apollo project I focused on the topic of depression, social media, and groupthink. For the English portion I wrote a screenplay for a short film about a kid considering committing suicide, for Art I made the short film on that screenplay, and for Social Studies I analyzed my screenplay/short film using the research that I did on the three topics.
Project 3
For my third project I focused on the topic of religion. I'm an atheist but wanted to learn as much about religion as I could. For my English portion I read the book "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins, annotated the text, asked questions while reading, and answered those questions in a written analysis of the book. For Social Studies I interviewed four people of different religions, an agnostic, and an atheist. And for art I did three small paintings and a photo collage on my view of religion.
Project 4
For my fourth project I focused on the topic of film. I want to be a filmmaker so that is why. I partnered with Isaac Embry for this project. For English we wrote a script to a talk show about movies that we titled "Scene on Screen," clever I know. For art we recorded the talk show. And for Social Studies I made a parody PSA on the effects of watching movies with violence.
