In this project, my partner Orion and I decided that we both wanted do something we're passionate about. Naturally, we gravitated to movies. We chose to make a sort of segmented or vignette style of recorded show about topics in film. After hours of writing, shooting and editing, we ended up with "Scene on Screen."
THE PROCESS
|
In order to shoot something, there first needs to be a script. In order to create a project through synthesis, we had to combine things. We took scenes from movies and either replicated them completely or used specific shots. Those camera movements are reflective of the topic being talked about in the footage. For example, the "Reservoir Dogs" scene is the one we used to talk about violence. We replicated the rotating sequence from the beginning as we talked about the impact of violence in media. Here's a still from the Reservoir Dogs sequence and a still from our replicated sequence. |

Social Studies
I (Orion) have Social Studies but Isaac doesn't. I decided I wanted to focus more on violence in film and how other countries view violence in film. I did research to find other countries opinions towards the violence in their movies. I also did research to find the effects of watching violent images.
I decided to create a parody PSA video on the effects of violence in film. This is what I came up with.

I put in tests, charts, statistics, and my own opinion into my PSA in order to have synthesis in my project.
