My name is Bree Durost (der-awst not der-oast). In Apollo, I am going deeper in my interests and passions in life. My passions are cooking, reading, and criminal investigation. Creativeness is has no limits and that's what I try to show within each project.
My interest in history is reflected in this project. Black and White is a project based on segregation in southern United States and in South Africa. I ended up making an article and comparing the south to the system of Apartheid in South Africa and created a tessellation. For my history, I made a mind map getting deeper into apartheid and how it affected the people in South Africa.
Cozinhando translates to the word cooking and that's what I am really interested in. My second project is all about the cooking in Brazil and how it changed from groups like the Portuguese and Europeans settling in Brazil. I made my own version of a cookbook with some traditional Brazilian recipes. I wrote descriptive paragraphs of the recipes for English and for history, I wrote about the history of one or more ingredients that have come from the Portuguese or another group for each recipe.
My third project is based on the war going on in Syria and the rebel group, the Northern Storm Brigade. For history and art I made a coat of arms representing the Northern Storm Brigade with different colors and shapes to symbolize. I made a journal in the perspective of a teenage boy named Omar, who is experiencing the conflicts that the war has put him and his family in.
