Freedom Rails
Freedom Rails was my first project in Apollo this year. One of my biggest aspirations is game design, and so going in, I thought that it would be an excellent idea to design an RPG based on an important historical event: Slavery in America.
My goal with this project was to create an experience for the player where they are directly experiencing the life of a slave in the mid 1800s.
For english, I created a detailed dialogue map/route that shows a clear navigation through the game!
For social studies, I chose to research and insititute an understanding of slavery in the 1800s in order to create a gameplay experience for those who want to learn about how the Underground Railroad really functioned.
